Description

As a Software Engineer Intern for the Communication System Hardware team in Pavia, Italy, you will join a growing team responsible for the Hardware and Software algorithm needed for the characterization and validation of the physical layer of high-frequency SerDes systems, Optical modules, DSP-based communication systems, and other key chips developed by the company.

You will be supporting the validation team in defining the testing architecture and supporting software development for the testing phase. A few specific projects focusing on the following areas:

  • Control instruments drivers and implementation
  • Development of validation SW infrastructure components (Data Management/ GUI / Instruments automation)
  • Data transformation from instruments to MongoDB to Jupyter for data analysis

Characteristics being developed during the internship period:

  • Lab automation and automation scripts
  • Data logging and data tools for validation reports
  • Firmware main routines for SerDes testing

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fields
  • Must be a last-year master’s student of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar technical field, enrolled at an accredited Italian university, or a recent (graduated in the last 12 months) master’s graduate​
  • Experience in Perl, Python, C/C++
  • Familiarity with instrument control is a plus
  • Strong English written and verbal skills
