People at the center

The first of the founding principles of the Politecnico di Torino Statute enunciates, “Politecnico di Torino, as a community that operates with the responsible concurrence of the student community and staff, takes as its pre-eminent reference value respect for the fundamental rights of the person, freedom of thought, research and teaching.

People and their future are therefore the University’s most valuable asset, and pursuing the well-being of the community means caring for them.

The Politecnico applies this vision in its daily action through specific services and policies dedicated to people, regardless of the role and category to which they belong: welfare services, equal opportunity and inclusion policies, organizational well-being, and the protection and assistance of people with Special Needs.

Talking about the Athenaeum model starting from the community is a choice that also leads to assuming founding values and management criteria, including: the centrality of the person as part of the community, subsidiarity relationships among the different articulations of the Athenaeum, academic freedom, streamlined processes and taking office as first among equals in the service of the community.

On the strength of these principles, the Polytechnic guarantees transparent, rigorous recruitment procedures based on equal opportunities and merit. It ensures agility in processes, so as to increase the level of quality of human resources through, also, the implementation of joint policies of investment in human capital, enhancement of professional skills, as well as improving their career opportunities.
